Long ago, when I was a student in college I fell in love with the world of art.   However, it was only a decade ago when I began to paint in oils.  I first began sketching in charcoal, but quickly moved on to oil painting.  I have learned from so many talented and wonderful art instructors who inspired and encouraged me to move forward. My style is still evolving and I can see and feel a change in how I approach a blank canvas.  I am never sure where the brush in my hand will take me, but I am drawn in quickly and become totally immersed in the process.  I never feel that I have actually completed a painting, as when I go back to look at one of my paintings drying I always feel it needs more.  I love painting both landscapes and still life objects.  The two are so completely different so I approach a landscape painting much differently than a still life.  I am mostly drawn in by the mixing of colors and layering them on top of one another. I love experimenting with different approaches as each painting is a new experience. As I move forward I hope that my art will as well.
